A Day Trip To Ballarat

by - Sabtu, Juli 09, 2016

Hi there,
I finally got some spare time to write something about my holiday.
I'm just kinda lazy these days, so I'm just gonna do a quick post about my recent trip to Ballarat.
I'm going here via public transport, so absolutely without any kind of day tours or any rented car, just by V-line and Metro bus into these place.
I went there from Southern-Cross station at 10 o'clock using V-line going straight to Ballarat, the ticket fare for round trip in a day was just $16 so cheap. Then we arrived 3 hours later in the Ballarat central station, we have to use bus to the Balllarat Wild life park and will arrived just outside the park.
So here's some of the picture that I took during the trip.

Kangaroo everywhere

Feeding the hungry kangaroo

This time feeding the wallabies
Yepp, the Wildlife park is somehow interesting as they free the animals so that you can feed them, take a picture and also pet them if you want. There's also some caged animals such as dingo, eagle, tasmanian devil, and etc. It's kinda fun, but I wish they make a lot of extra session for the koala hugging time as I missed the show and somehow can't managed to get a good picture of the koala as they are enjoying their nap.

Then after going to the Wildlife park, I'm going to the famous Sovereign Hill and once again, just using bus from the wildlife park. The ticket for this is quite expensive though, but it's worth it, especially when you're going there when there's winter light festival going on usually around winter time as it's an early Christmas for Australians. So here it is.

Posing outside the place

What a view right ? like travelling back to the oldies

another me posing inside the little town

posing like I'm going to rob the bank, lol

I think this is the goldmine machine.. not sure

extra money for the gold tour.. anyone interested ?

Happy early christmas from me and Sandra

another preview of the town

gold mining in progress

And the best part is the night time as there's some snow and lights everywhere. There's also some people that dressed up as the citizen on Ballarat using some cute clothes and you can absolutely take a picture with them.
Let me tell you the perks of using public transport to Ballarat, you can't go home late as the last bus from Sovereign Hill is 7 pm and the last train is 7.30, so you can't really enjoying the night show in Sovereign Hill. So I just rushing outside and waiting for the bus and then waiting for the V-line train to take us back to the city.

So are you interested on going to Ballarat ? I bet you are, and if you think using car or tour is hard and wanna try going with public transport, you can but keep on eye for the bus schedule.

That's all for this trip, I will post some of my other trips when I have some spare time 😁👍🏻 Thanks for reading
